Over the last month or more I've been watching the unfolding of the Lowe's debacle, the passage of the NDAA legislation in Congress and similar issues impacting American Muslims. I haven't written about them because I've been busy doing other stuff.
What kinds of other stuff? I assure you none of it was very important. Most of it was just lounging around the man-cave watching football, working out and reading.
It's been great! I feel rested. I'm off the rest of 2011 and am committed to doing a lot more of the same (working out, watching pro and college football and reading).
I'm so disgusted by President Obama's willingness to sign a bill that provides for indefinite detention of U.S. citizens without due process. I expected more of President Obama.
It's disturbing to see how a lone extremist Christian activist is able to leverage the Islamophobic fodder put out by the likes of Geller and Spencer to cause a major retailer like Lowe's to make a business decision that is clearly predicated on bigotry.
I'm not oblivious to what's going on around me. I'm reading about it and listening to what others are saying about it, but I wasn't up to breaking away from the Hasbro Board Games Rock Bowl featuring Robert Morris College versus Backwater Polytechnical Institute to pontificate on these important issues.
Okay, I've got to go. I need to monitor my Yahoo! Sports Fantasy College Bowl Games Pick'em leagues. I'm leading in one and in second place in another, but both are still very tight races!
